Ocean safety officials on Kauai today closed Kealia Beach until further notice due to a shark sighting.
Lifeguards said a 10-to-12 foot possible tiger shark was reportedly seen approximately 75 yards from the shoreline, according to a news release from the Kauai Fire Department.
Signs have been posted along the beach warning the public to stay out of the water.
Lifeguards will reassess the beach tomorrow morning.
