‘JONES’ OPENS AT MANOA VALLEY THEATRE

Manoa Valley Theatre producing director Dwight Martin, left, celebrated Thursday with cast member Vontress Mitchell and MVT board Chairman Jeff Portnoy at the opening-night reception for “Lysistrata Jones” in Manoa. The show is Mitchell’s first at MVT, and his work in the contemporary musical comedy is an impressive contrast to his powerful performance as a tormented preacher in The Actors’ Group staging of “Storefront Church” in September.
