NOAA issues high-surf advisory for all islands beginning early Sunday
The National Weather Service issued a high-surf advisory for east-facing shores of Oahu, Kauai, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island beginning at 6.a.m. Sunday and ending at 9 p.m. Monday.
A northwest swell generated by Tropical Storm Celia will produce high surf expected to be between 6 and 9 feet, according to weather officials.
Strong breaking waves and rip currents will make swimming difficult and dangerous.
Beachgoers, swimmers and surfers are urged to exercise caution and heed all advice given by ocean safety officials.
