Hawaiian Air pilots picket, threaten strike


    More than 200 of Hawaiian Airlines’ 650 pilots picketed at Honolulu Airport on Friday, the same day the carrier launched service to Narita International Airport in Tokyo. Pilots have been locked in labor negotiations with the company for nearly 15 months. Capt. Jon Tyau, who has worked at Hawaiian Airlines for 31 years, held a sign that said in Japanese, “No Pilots, No Hawaiian!”

On a day when Hawaiian Airlines launched its inaugural service to Tokyo’s Narita International Airport, more than 200 of the company’s 650 pilots picketed outside the departure terminal at Honolulu Airport. Read more
