Trump calls on Russia to find Clinton’s missing emails

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump spoke during a news conference at Trump National Doral, today, in Tampa, Fla.
WASHINGTON » Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump encouraged Russia to meddle in American politics today, with a stunning recommendation to uncover and make public hacked emails that might damage his opponent, Hillary Clinton.
Shortly after Trump’s remarks, his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, took a different tack and warned of “serious consequences” if Russia interfered in the election.
The developments came as Democrats met on the third day of their presidential convention in Philadelphia, where Clinton will claim the party’s nomination Thursday night.
Trump’s extraordinary comments raised the specter of whether he was condoning foreign government hacking of U.S. computers and the public release of information stolen from political adversaries — actions that are at least publicly frowned upon across the globe.
“I will tell you this. Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Trump said. He was referring to emails on Clinton’s private email server that she deleted because she said they were private before she turned other messages over to the State Department. The FBI declined to prosecute Clinton over her email practices but its director said she had been “extremely careless” handling classified materials.
The Clinton campaign called Trump’s statement the “first time that a major presidential candidate has actively encouraged a foreign power to conduct espionage against a political opponent.”
At a press conference in Doral, Florida, after Trump’s initial remarks, he was asked whether he had any pause about asking a foreign government to hack into computers in the United States. Trump did not directly respond except to say, “That’s up to the president. Let the president talk to them.”
He later added: “If Russia or China or any other country has those emails, I mean, to be honest with you, I’d love to see them.”
Later, Pence said in a statement there should be “serious consequences” if Russia is found to be interfering in the U.S. electoral process.
The exchange occurred after President Barack Obama identified Russia as almost certainly responsible for hacking the Democratic National Committee. WikiLeaks published on its website last week more than 19,000 internal emails stolen from the DNC earlier this year. The emails showed DNC staffers actively supporting Clinton when they were publicly promising to remain neutral during the primary elections between Clinton and rival candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders.
The head of the DNC, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, resigned over the disclosures, which disrupted this week’s convention.
Trump cast doubt on whether Russia was behind that hack. He said blaming Russia was deflecting attention from the embarrassing material in the emails.
“Russia has no respect for our country, if it is Russia,” Trump said. “It could be China. It could be someone sitting in his bedroom. It’s probably not Russia. Nobody knows if it’s Russia.”
Obama traditionally avoids commenting on active FBI investigations, but he told NBC News on Tuesday that outside experts have blamed Russia for the leak. Obama also appeared to embrace the notion that President Vladimir Putin might have been responsible because of what he described as Trump’s affinity for Putin. Trump said he has no relationship to Putin.
In Moscow today, Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said Russia would never interfere in another country’s election.
“What the motives were in terms of the leaks, all that, I can’t say directly,” Obama said. “What I do know is that Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed admiration for Vladimir Putin.”
Obama said he was basing his assessment on Trump’s own comments and the fact that Trump has “gotten pretty favorable coverage back in Russia.” He added that the U.S. knows that “Russians hack our systems — not just government systems, but private systems.”
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said his organization would not disclose who provided it with the stolen material. WikiLeaks said on Twitter that it timed its publication of the emails — days before the Democratic convention was starting — “when our verification, research and formatting process was complete and on a day likely to generate interest.” On Tuesday, Assange said on CNN that “a lot more” material was coming but provided no details.

Well per the Washington Post, Clinton claimed that among the e-mails she deleted from her private account were the typical fare about planning her daughter’s wedding, family vacations, and her “yoga routines.” So if the Russians did hack Clinton’s email server, it will prove (1) that her private server was hacked because she “acted carelessly” (per FBI Director) and that (2) she endangered national security as there were classified emails on her server (per FBI Director). Also, if there were official State Dept. or other Clinton Foundation emails co-mingled in the 30,000 supposedly private deleted emails, it will confirm what most people already know – that Hillary is a LIAR and unfit to be president.

If the Russians were responsible for hacking into the DNC emails as the DNC and Clinton campaign claim, then maybe, just maybe, the Russians hacked into Hillary’s unsecured server and maybe, just maybe, they have some or all of the 33,000 emails Hillary deleted from her server. And if they do, then maybe, just maybe, they might want to release them to the FBI as Trump suggested. And if they do, then maybe, just maybe, the FBI might do something about it, but don’t bet on it.
We néed the FBI, CIA, ANONYMOUS, & IRS to hack into all of Trump’s emails, and especially his TAX Returns. Then we will see who is crooked, corrupt, and needs to be locked up

He’s ASKING Russia to take positive actions to find and disclose the emails, to take positive actions to meddle in an election. That’s the problem. It shows such bad judgement his own running mate is distancing himself from Chump’s statements. No amount of spin can change this.
First of all, Hillary took her email server offline in 2011. So even if Russia were to try to hack it now, it wouldn’t make sense as it impossible since it is already OFFLINE (aka unplugged, wiped clean, done). However, if they already hacked it back in say 2010 or 2011, and have a cache of emails (all 33,000 deleted plus the ones turned over to the FBI) then that is an entirely different story.
Your’re assuming Chump knows the serve is offline, and so what if the server is offloaded, Chump’s pleas is for Russians help in hacking other computers for the e-mails. Look if Hillary said “I will tell you this. This is exactly my point. Hillary claims she didn’t endanger national security and that her email server was secure. The FBI said it wasn’t hacked but can’t be 100% sure. But if the Russians do have the emails (the 33,000 deleted plus the ones turned over to the FBI which did have classified information btw), it as show that Hillary endangered national security because it contradicts her saying she wasn’t hacked. If the 33,000 emails she deleted was strictly personal, such as planning her daughter’s wedding, family vacations, and her yoga routines, then no big deal (but she still got hacked). However, if the 33,000 emails contain something embarrassing or illegal (i.e. soliciting donations for her foundation as a quid pro quo for acts), this election could take an interesting turn…

“We’ll be looking at that” is Trump’s standard response when he doesn’t know what he is talking about, and it is an answer that would make Putin very happy as it runs counter to American foreign policy, both Republican and Democrat.
Trump’s motto might as well be “Make Russia Great Again.”

It was part of the Ukraine when they were all part of the Soviet Union, i.e. the same country.
Perhaps its having been part of the Ukraine was viewed as an administrative convenience.
The Crimea is the area from which the Muslim Ottomans conducted slaving raids into Christian Russia.
The Ottomans referred to it as “Harvesting the Steppes”.

Republican candidates for president should not rely on the general public including the media to keep track of where his tongue is. It’s on him if he chooses to stick it in a fire. Time after time.

I don’t know what the big commotion is about on his statement. Mr. Trump may be a white collar businessman but his mentality is blue collar and he says what he thinks. Unpolished, politically incorrect but he says what a lot of Americans are thinking but are afraid to say due to backlash.
He is bullish, crass at times and will often say outlandish things. He can do this because he has his own money backing him and not money from ‘sponsors’ who would insist he toe the proper etiquette line.
I am not saying he is the best thing for America but he sure as hell would create chaos for both parties and maybe even get rid of the entrenched politicians who bleed the system and American public. He’s a ‘bull in a china shop’ so to speak, so if he says something outlandish, ‘expect it’. His last comment about Russia I am sure was meant as a sarcastic remark aimed at Clinton (he makes a lot of them) but anything he says people will think or interpret it to the worst so no big deal. Besides, no matter what he says ‘no one man determines the fate or direction of our country’ without the support of our messed up Congress (as Obama learned). The lesser of two evils? Answer: Don’t vote for either of them.
