>> Boston pitcher Steven Wright (Hawaii) injured his shoulder pinch-running on Aug. 7 and is eligible to come off the disabled list Tuesday. The Red Sox have not ruled out his return that day, but he doesn’t seem to think he will be ready, telling the Boston Herald, “It just doesn’t seem smart to try to rush. I never was told I was pitching Tuesday. I was told that was the first day I was eligible to come off. Somehow there was a miscommunication with somebody saying I was pitching Tuesday. I wish I could. For me, when it’s my shoulder, and my elbow is the same thing, there’s no reason to rush because what happens if you try to go out there and throw through something and you make it worse?”

>> According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki (Baldwin) cleared waivers last week, meaning Minnesota can still trade him if another team is interested, likely a contender. Suzuki has about $1.5 million left on his contract this year and a $6 million option for next season that is unlikely to be triggered.

>> The Yankees recalled pitcher Kirby Yates (Kauai) on Wednesday.

>> Catcher Chace Numata (Pearl City) is having a career-best season with Clearwater, batting .309 with a .380 on-base percentage and a .404 slugging percentage, all career highs.

>> After struggling for a month with Double-A Arkansas, Tim Arakawa (Moanalua) was demoted to Class A Advanced Inland Empire on Tuesday.
