Even if your vehicle isn’t filthy, take a drive to Wahiawa today to support Herman’s Car Wash Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon — proceeds will go to Wahiawa General Hospital, which is struggling to keep its doors open.
Herman Kiili, who is 35 and developmentally disabled, has single-handedly galvanized the community to support Wahiawa General in any way, big or small.
It’s heartwarming that community, church, hospital and elected leaders have pitched in to make Kiili’s fundraiser come to fruition, from printing tickets to recruiting car washers. Kiili will be set up on Center Street behind the hospital with dozens of volunteer washers. Cost is $10 a car. Just goes to show that one person truly can make a difference.
