Pallets of paper from Papersource Hawaii are being sold by Oahu Auctions.
Papersource Hawaii, the largest wholesale distributor of paper products in the state, with clients in the food service and hospitality industries, retail industry and numerous businesses in Hawaii, is liquidating its inventory as it prepares to halt operations.
Oahu Auctions is conducting a seven-day auction for the company that began Thursday and runs through Thursday.
Auction items can be previewed at oahuauctions.com.
Oahu Auctions said the auction will help Papersource Hawaii empty the company’s 80,000-square-foot warehouse and offices of all products, warehouse equipment, office furniture and fixtures.
Papersource Hawaii supplied disposable essentials to some of Hawaii’s largest resorts, restaurants and janitorial companies and hospitals. It provided Dole Foods, Hawaiian Sun and retailers such as Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Down to Earth with branded custom packaging. The company also sourced and warehoused paper products such as toilet tissue, paper towels and other janitorial supplies.
The company had served Hawaii’s businesses from Campbell Industrial Park since 1998 and has paper goods including corrugated boxes, packing materials, a wide range of printing-paper products, paper cups, paper bags and a mixture of other paper products.

The company’s product line also includes an array of cleaning supplies and sanitation products, including wastebasket liners, disposable gloves, dishwashing detergent and laundry supplies. Other items include commercial carpet cleaners, extractors, upright vacuum cleaners, paper towel dispensers, bakers’ supplies and travel-size hair care and skin care products.
“This is a rare, one-time opportunity for the public to bid on goods that are generally only sold to restaurants and hotels at wholesale,” says David Brandt of Oahu Auctions. “We anticipate that many of these products will sell for much less than wholesale prices.”
The auction also includes warehouse equipment such as multiple forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment. Office furniture — a mixture of desks, credenzas, filing cabinets, executive chairs, bookcases and shelving — are on the auction block as well.

I’m not in the know, but I guess PaperSource is closing it’s business doors?
And yet, the article explains nothing of why they are shutting down…
Bingo!
How many jobs will be lost? What companies will now supply these product categories to their customers? Was the cause of the closure economic or did the owners just decide to retire?
Journalism at its worst.
Just some more of that there top shelf reporting.
This SA article seems to be more of an advertisement for the auction rather than about the closure of Papersource Hawaii.
Who wrote this stuff, a SA pet monkey??
PaperSource puts out a press release announcing the auction. S-A staffer does a “rip and print”. I bet this article is word for word from that press release. Kudos to PaperSource for getting S-A to give them free advertising.
I’m pretty sure that’s what it is
