The Ghostbusters Hawaii Division and comic book store Other Realms are teaming up for a book drive at the shop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Honolulu.
They are seeking donations of books, sticker books, comic books, graphic novels and small, nonchoking hazard toys.
In exchange, donors are welcome to take a photo with the Ecto-1 vehicle and local Ghostbusters team. To celebrate National Batman Day, members of the League of Shadows Hawaii dressed as Batman will also be at the store from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for photo opportunities.
Why comic books? Every Monday, a Shriners volunteer roams the halls of the children’s hospital, talking to patients and giving them small toys and comic books to keep.
Other Realms Ltd. is at 1130 N. Nimitz Highway, Suite C-140. Call 596-8236.
