Also happening: entertainment by the Edelweiss Trio and contests in bratwurst eating, chicken dancing and stein hoisting.

Tea and chocolates aid cancer research

Afternoon tea has gone pink at the Kahala Hotel & Resort, to mark National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Throughout October the tea service will include raspberry macarons, guava red velvet cupcakes, pink truffles, white chocolate tartlets and savory tea sandwiches, all tinged in pink. A featured drink: Lucien Albrecht Brut Rose NV.

Cost is $50.

The Kahala is also offering its chocolate-covered macadamia nuts in pink, for sale at Plumeria Beach House, Hoku’s and The Veranda for $28 per half-pound.

A portion of sales from tea and the chocolates will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
