The University of Hawaii is working toward a multi-year contract extension for Rainbow Wahine basketball coach Laura Beeman, officials said.
The action comes on the heels of a two-year extension and substantial pay raise for men’s coach Eran Ganot, announced last month. Ganot’s new contract runs through the 2019-20 season.
Beeman’s current three-year contract expires June 30, 2017.
“We have talked face-to-face and hope to make some more progress,” athletic director David Matlin said. “It is definitely on my board, but I have been traveling and have some catching up to do.”
Beeman is 78-48 in five seasons, including 49-17 in the Big West Conference. She guided the Rainbow Wahine to a 21-11 (12-4 Big West) finish in 2015-16, including a conference championship that earned her coach of the year honors.
The pay range for Beeman’s position is $118,488 to $209,784.
