Police arrested three men who allegedly robbed three women at gunpoint early Tuesday morning at a business establishment in Kakaako.
Police said the men, ages 40, 36 and 31, had a firearm and demanded property from the women at 12:48 a.m.
Police found the suspects nearby, had them identified and arrested them on first-degree robbery and weapons charges.
Smoke alarm helps 2 escape house fire
Two women escaped uninjured from a house fire early Tuesday afternoon in Kapalama.
The Honolulu Fire Department dispatched 10 companies with 37 personnel at 12:46 p.m. to the blaze at 1218 Alani St. A smoke alarm and the odor of smoke alerted the women.
Firefighters extinguished the fire by 1:12 p.m. Investigators found that the fire was intentionally set. Damage has been estimated at $6,000.
Death in Hanapepe is under investigation
Kauai police are investigating an unattended death after a man was found unresponsive near Salt Pond in Hanapepe on Tuesday.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, is described as a 34-year-old male believed to be from West Kauai. The cause of death is being investigated.
Police said the man was discovered by someone walking along the shoreline shortly before 7 a.m.

Man is hospitalized after Waikiki stabbing
A 22-year-old man was taken to a hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds in Waikiki on Monday night.
Police arrested a 20-year-old North Shore man on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder; he remains in custody.
The suspect was arrested shortly after midnight Tuesday on Kalakaua Avenue near Sans Souci Beach.
