Damaged utility poles close Kaimuki roadways

Utility poles damaged in two separate motor vehicle crashes in Kaimuki closed heavily travelled roadways this morning.

The first crash occurred at around 5 a.m. and forced police to close 11th Avenue between Waialae and Harding avenues. The stretch of road was reopened around 10 a.m.

The second crash occurred around 8 a.m. and forced the closure of Harding Avenue between 7th and 9th avenues.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

    Heard it was someone in a stolen vehicle knocking down the poles. What a mess.

    I came across the repair crew and had to take detour from Harding and onto Waialae. What’s going on the speed limit is 35 mph…is it an issue with “attention disorder” or speeding or both? (not counting the unconfirmed theft incident).
