I’m always looking for ways to find my suitcase faster at the airport, and these Hello Kitty luggage tags ($6.25) make the task much easier. The hula and beach-day designs are adorable, and the island theme makes them a perfect add-on to gift packages bound for the mainland. The luggage tags are part of Island Heritage’s new collaboration with Sanrio, which includes surfing Hello Kitty sticky notes that come in packs of 50 sheets ($3.25). While a healthful eating choice, leafy greens are most susceptible to bacterial contamination. Washing helps but doesn’t kill all the E. coli bacteria often responsible for food poisoning. At health-oriented Blue Tree Cafe, I discovered Saladwash spray, as clear as water and nontoxic to humans but said to kill E coli., salmonella, listeria, shigella, the hepatitis A virus, norovirus and other food pathogens. The high-pH, plant-based liquid, which includes lemongrass, can be safely sprayed on fruits and vegetables before rinsing.
At Blue Tree, 1009 Kapiolani Blvd., Saladwash sells for $8.95 for a 60-milliliter bottle. Visit saladwash.com.

Larry’s, at 4369 Lawehana St., near the Target store by Pearl Harbor, can also customize cookies with a photo of a guest of honor or other design. In a family of skilled gift wrappers, I am hopeless. But I have found that many a gift-wrapping mishap can be disguised by the right finishing touches. Sparkly wired ribbon and a pretty faux flower or ornament can distract from crooked corners on wrinkled wrapping.
Stacey Emi Shiroma understands that my lack of skill is not for lack of trying, and has created delicately detailed washi paper birds on hemp twine that I can affix to my less-than-perfect packages. Buy five 3-1/2-inch birds in varying styles for $15 at emiink.com.

When the state Legislature passed what was known as the Growler Law in 2015, local craft beer fans were excited at the prospect of filling up their own reusable containers at their favorite breweries. The momentum continues to build among consumers and brewers, with more growler choices showing up around town.
The newest option is a “crowler,” or 32-ounce, can-shaped growler offered at Beer Lab HI in Moiliili. Instead of the traditional 64-ounce reusable glass growler, these one-time-use cans are filled on demand for customers and sealed using a specialized machine. I love how the sealed cans mean no chance of leaks, and they can be packed into a cooler much easier than glass growlers. Their smaller size also means less chance of wasting your brew if you don’t drink it fast enough.
Find Beer Lab HI crowlers at 1010 University Ave. for $15 to $25, depending on the beer you pick. Call 888-0913.
