83A 77-year-old man was transported to a trauma center in serious condition after he was struck by a vehicle in Moiliili early today.
Emergency Medical Services reported paramedics responded to the accident at the intersection of Date and Coolidge streets at about 6:20 a.m.
Paramedics treated the pedestrian, who suffered injuries to the left side of his head. Honolulu Fire Spokesman Capt. David Jenkins said the 77-year-old man was alert when first responders arrived.
There is no information on the driver at this time.
