Sisters Julie Kuwaye, left, and Alisa Kondo were browsing in a mall in Hiroshima, Japan, earlier this month when they suddenly seemed much closer to home. “We were in a shopping mall looking for a place to eat, and we were excited to see a Hawaiian pancake restaurant called Lanai Cafe. So we had to take a picture in front of it,” Kondo wrote. The siblings, who live in the Kahala area, were in Japan to visit relatives.
