A new president has been selected for Chaminade University.
The university’s Board of Regents selected Lynn M. Babington to serve as president, according to a news release.
Babington, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Fairfield University in Connecticut, will succeed current President Brother Bernard Ploeger on Aug. 1.
In the release, Babington said, “I am honored and humbled to be chosen as the new president for Chaminade University at such a pivotal time.”
Babington is slated to serve as interim president for Fairfield from January to June before she relocates to Hawaii. Prior to Fairfield, she served as an associate dean and graduate director at Northeastern University, the release said.
