Those who need a dose of holiday cheer might want to head downtown, where 37 small, locally owned galleries, boutiques and restaurants are participating in Winter Walk 2016, decorating their businesses to create a festive, nighttime holiday display for all to enjoy while strolling, shopping and dining.
The public is invited to share photos of their favorite windows on social media using the hashtag #winterwalk808.
Maps will be available in shops throughout the area; information is also available on Facebook and Instagram .

Christmas Stores in Waikiki and Santa’s Pen mall concessions are offering free personalizing and custom gift boxes/bags with purchases of Christmas ornaments, including Hawaiian-themed styles. Choose from hundreds of designs from the kamaaina company, which has been helping families celebrate the holidays since 1985.
Prices start at $10 at seasonal shops at Kahala Mall, the Navy Exchange rotunda, Pearlridge and Windward Mall.

INAUGURAL FUNDRAISER HELPS HOMELESS
Tickets are on sale for the inaugural Love Gives Hawaii Wedding Auction and Cocktail Gala, which will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Four Seasons Resort at Ko Olina.
Love Gives Hawaii is a new nonprofit created by local wedding industry professions to raise funds for nonprofit groups. Proceeds from the inaugural event will go to Family Promise of Hawaii, helping homeless families with transitional housing services.
Guests will be treated to food and entertainment, and will have the opportunity to bid on wedding items and services including a White Hot Hawaii designer wedding gown valued at $2,500, a Passion Roots floral ceremony arbor valued at $1,250, and a Sunset Ranch wedding day valued at $3,400.
