Northridge, Calif. >> Former Hawaii backup Stefan Jovanovic scored 16 points and hit a game-winning layup with nine seconds left, lifting the Loyola Marymount Lions over the Cal State Northridge Matadors 69-68 on Saturday.

Jovanovic, who transferred after UH was hit with a postseason ban by the NCAA, grabbed an offensive rebound and scored to put the Lions (4-3) up 69-68. CSUN (3-7) had two shots for the win but missed.

Jovanovic also hit two free throws with 54 seconds left to close the gap to 68-67.
