If you’re still shopping for a few holiday dining options, here are a few ideas:
>> Arancino at the Kahala: Chef Daisuke Hamamoto’s six-course holiday menu starts with a trio of appetizers — potato crostini, foie gras terrine and buffalo mozzarella caprese — with main attractions of spinach linguine with Hokkaido snow crab, and A5 Miyazaki wagyu.
As always, Hamamoto has a snowy holiday surprise up his sleeve with dessert of semifreddo on ice.
The holiday special dinner will be available for the next two weekends — Friday through Sunday and Dec. 30 to Jan. 1 — from 5 to 10 p.m. (last seating at 9:30 p.m.). Cost is $160, with wine pairings for $35. Reserve at 380-4400.
>> Senia: News that “Senia is coming” since last fall makes it the most anticipated restaurant of the year, and it doesn’t disappoint.
The opening regional Americana menu by Chris Kajioka (Vintage Cave, Aziza, Per Se) and British chef Anthony Rush (French Laundry, Fera at Claridge’s) features such dishes as poke cracker snacks at $3 each; chicken liver mousse for $7; pastas, salads and hefty, shareable dishes such as glazed pork belly at $60 for three to four people; and “pastrami” beef short ribs with green pepper gravy at $110 for four to five people.
The restaurant is at 75 N. King St., next door to The Pig & the Lady. Call 200-5412.
