Obamas, friends dine in Waikiki after beach day at Bellows

President Barack Obama dined in Waikiki tonight after spending much of the day at the beach at Bellows Air Force Station today.

The president, first lady Michelle Obama, and friends were having a late dinner at Mahina & Sun’s, according to the White House

Earlier, the president, his family and friends enjoyed the beach at Bellows from about 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. before returning to the family’s vacation home in Kailua.

Obama started the day with his usual morning workout at the Semper Fit gym on Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

Obama arrived at the Kaneohe Bay gym at about 8 a.m. The president’s motorcade passed about 20 residents, who waved and took video with their cell phones on the way from his rental home to the nearby base.

Today is the 13th day of Obama’s annual holiday vacation to his home state of Hawaii.
