President Barack Obama dined in Waikiki on Thursday night after spending the day at the beach at Bellows Air Force Station.
The president, first lady Michelle Obama and friends dined at Mahina & Sun’s, according to the White House.
The trendy restaurant at the Surfjack Hotel Waikiki is Honolulu-born Chef Ed Kenney’s fourth and latest restaurant, featuring island cuisine that uses local, organic produce and locally sourced seafood and meats.
Earlier the president, his family and friends enjoyed the beach in Waimanalo from about 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. before returning to the family’s vacation home in Kailua.
Obama started the day at 8 a.m. with his usual morning workout at the Semper Fit gym on Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
