Kiran Shastri scored 23 points, hitting seven of Chaminade’s school-record 20 3-pointers, in a 132-67 nonconference men’s basketball victory over Northwest Indian College at McCabe Gym on Saturday.
Rohndell Goodwin added 20 points and Kuany Kuany 13 for the Silverswords (8-5), who led 72-25 at halftime. Shastri and Goodwin both only played 16 minutes for Chaminade, which was 20 of 38 from 3-point range.
Christian Nickerson led the Eagles (0-24) with six points.
Chaminade women fall to Grand Canyon
Lilia Maio scored 13 points and Kristle Henry added 11, but it was not enough as Chaminade fell to Grand Canyon 85-55 in a nonconference women’s basketball game at McCabe Gym on Saturday.
Brie Mobley came off the bench for 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Antelopes (8-5), who outscored the Silverswords 22-11 in the third quarter to pull away. Casey Rarrick added 18 points, all coming on six 3-pointers for former PacWest member GCU, which improved to 16-0 against Chaminade.
It was the first regular-season game against a Division I school for the Silverswords (1-9).
