A fire in an old Maui sugar cane field was extinguished on Monday afternoon.

The Maui Fire Department said a brush fire was reported at about 3:47 p.m. in the Pulehu/Omaopio area, and arrived to find a fire burning in an old cane field. It was extinguish within 2 hours after scorching about 2 acres of brush.

There were no injuries reported and the cause had not been determined.
