Lilia Maio broke a tie by converting a 3-point play with three seconds left to lift the Chaminade women’s basketball team to a 79-76 road win over Fresno Pacific at the Special Events Center.
The senior finished with 15 points to become the program’s all-time leading scorer at 1,147 points, surpassing Samantha Saito’s previous mark of 1,141.
Kristle Henry scored a team-high 18 points for the Silverswords (2-13, 2-9 PacWest), and Megan Lee led the Sunbirds (4-13, 1-8) with 17 points.
>> In the men’s matchup, the Sunbirds prevailed 112-108 in double overtime. Mike Crawley led FPU (3-13, 3-6) with a game-high 27 points. Sam Daly (26) and Rohndell Goodwin (24) combined to score 50 points for CUH (11-7, 7-4).

The Sharks (16-1, 8-1) were led by Chauncey Orr and Connor Looney, who each scored 15. Jeremiah Gray had a game-high 18 points for the Penguins (4-12, 3-7).
>> In the women’s matchup of the same teams, Hawaii Pacific won its fourth straight contest as the Sharks (10-3, 7-1) downed the Penguins 64-51.
Taylor Donnot led Dominican (9-8, 5-5) with 14 points, and Breanna Mackenzie paced HPU with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.
