Chez Reavie had everybody scrambling to go see him after he came dangerously close to shooting the second round in the 50s this weekend only to come a couple of shots shy at 9-under 61.
He started the day tied for 48th at 7-under 203. He wound up tied for eighth with Charles Howell at 16-under 264. At one point, he was tied for second with Jordan Spieth at 16 under only to slip down the board as the top golfers played through.
At one point, Reavie was 9 under after 12 holes, needing only two more birdies to break the magic number of 60. Instead, he bogeyed No. 6 and birdied No. 9 to stay at 9 under for the round. He had the best round of the day. Spieth was second at 63.
