Officials are warning drivers that the H-1 freeway will close in both directions this morning between the Kualakai Parkway and Kamokila Boulevard interchanges.
The closure will take place from 6 to 10 a.m. and will allow utility crews to replace a power line, which crosses the freeway, that fell during a windstorm on Jan. 21, according to Hawaiian Electric Co.
Traffic will be detoured onto Kualakai Parkway and Farrington Highway. Honolulu police will be stationed along the detour route.
Officials are asking residents to plan ahead, expect delays and consider postponing travel during those hours.
