Honolulu firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire at a home in Waimanalo early today.

The fire at 41-774 Mokulama St. started at approximately 2:30 a.m. Thirty firefighters responded and saw smoke and flames emerging from the front of the single-story home.

Honolulu Fire Department Spokesman Capt. David Jenkins said the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Firefighters brought the fire under control by 2:57 a.m. and extinguished it at 3:37 a.m.

Jenkins said the structure is considered to be a “total loss.” The cause of the fire is under investigation and a damage estimate has yet to be determined.
