Molokai Burger fire causes $150,000 in damage
A fire late Monday at a Molokai restaurant caused an estimated $150,000 damage, the Maui Fire Department said today in a news release.
Molokai firefighters responded to a report of smoke at the Molokai Burger at 11:19 p.m. Monday and found flames in the kitchen.
Firefighters had the blaze under control at 11:30 p.m., and extinguished it at about 1 a.m., the Fire Department said.
Fire investigators said the fire appeared to be accidental, but could not determine the exact cause of the fire.
The blaze caused an estimated $150,000 in damage to the building, but no damage estimate to the contents was available.
