Sirens sound off today in rescheduled monthly test
The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency is conducting its rescheduled monthly test of the statewide outdoor warning siren system today.
The test, usually done on the first business day of the month, was postponed Wednesday to avoid confusion as a powerful storm dumped heavy rain throughout the islands. Officials were concerned that residents might have mistook the siren testing for an actual emergency alert.
