A 21-year-old woman who allegedly drove her car into two people following an argument in Nanakuli has been charged with terroristic threatening.
Paresse K. Lai of Nanakuli was charged Monday afternoon with two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and failure to render aid. She was to be arraigned at District Court on Tuesday. Lai’s bail has been set at $25,000.
The argument between Lai and two people — a 28-year-old woman and 30-year-old man — occurred at the Pacific Shopping Mall at about 3 p.m. Sunday.
Police said after she allegedly drove into them, Lai attempted to leave when she allegedly struck a vehicle, injuring a 73-year-old woman. Police said she then fled.
Emergency Medical Services transported the 28-year-old woman and 73-year-old woman in stable condition to a hospital. They were treated and released.
About three hours later Lai turned herself in at the Waianae police station.
3 suspects sought in Big Island robbery
Hawaii County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying three people involved in a Hilo robbery, a news release Tuesday announced.
Police said two male suspects and one female suspect approached a man the morning of March 2, assaulted him and grabbed his backpack in the area of Kilauea Avenue and Kukuau Street.
One suspect is described as in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 140 to 150 pounds, with fair skin and dark hair, wearing a white shirt. A second male suspect is described as roughly 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, weighing about 150 pounds with fair skin and long, black hair.
The female suspect was described as having long, dark hair and wearing a black backpack. She was last seen wearing a pink sweater and long pants.

Victim of crash in Pearl City is ID’d
A 29-year-old man who died in a motorcycle crash in Pearl City has been identified as Nicholas K. Nahinu.
Nahinu died from blunt force head injuries after he crashed into a concrete wall early Saturday. The manner of death was classified as an accident.
At about 5:30 a.m., police said, Nahinu was traveling north on Hooli Circle on his motorcycle when he lost control and struck a concrete wall and mailboxes. Police said he was thrown from his motorcycle.
Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene. Nahinu was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Teen airlifted after failing to scale cliff
Maui fire rescue personnel rescued a 17-year-old boy who was stranded after jumping into a pond in Makamakaole Gulch on Sunday.
The boy jumped off a 30-foot waterfall into the pond but was unable to make it back up the wet and slippery cliff to rejoin his friends. Firefighters responding to the 3:33 p.m. emergency call located the boy and airlifted him to safety.
No injuries were reported.
