Speed appears to be a factor in a single-motorcycle crash that left a 33-year-old man in critical condition Saturday in Ewa Beach.

The man crashed his 2007 Honda motorcycle about 7:50 p.m. near Fort Weaver Road and Laulaunui Street, authorities said. Police said the driver was speeding in the south-bound direction on Fort Weaver when he lost control and went down.

He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in extremely critical condition, police said.

An Emergency Medical Services report said the man was not wearing a helmet.
