Police seek Hilo shoplifting suspect

Hawaii island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a male suspect in connection with a theft that occurred at a Hilo store.

The theft occurred Thursday where a man allegedly shoplifted an item from the store. Video surveillance cameras captured images of the culprit.

Police said the suspect was wearing a black baseball cap, white T-shirt, black pants and a gray backpack at the time of the theft. He is described as having black medium-length hair and fair to medium complexion.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to call the police department’s non-emergency phone number at 935-3311 or officer Joshua Gouveia at 961-2213.

Individuals also may call CrimeStoppers at 961-8300.
