A 26-year-old man has been charged in the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old man in Honolulu.
A.J. Achuo of Waipahu was charged Sunday with second-degree murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
The victim’s name has yet to be released by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office.
At about 1:20 a.m. Saturday, police said, Achuo and the victim were involved in an altercation at 729 Kinau St. when Achuo allegedly stabbed him with a dangerous instrument.
Police arrested Achuo at the scene about 20 minutes after the stabbing.
Emergency Medical Services treated the victim and transported him in critical condition to a trauma hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Paramedics also transported a second man, described to be in his 20s, in serious condition to a hospital.
Achuo has a criminal record of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, as well as disorderly conduct, driving under the influence of an intoxicant and inattention to driving, which are classified as petty misdemeanors.
Woman arrested in alleged assault of beau
Police arrested a 36-year-old woman after she allegedly attempted to run over her boyfriend with a vehicle in Kalihi.
The incident occurred at about 11:25 a.m. Sunday. Police said the woman also allegedly assaulted the 45-year-old man with an undisclosed object, causing injury. Police arrested the woman a few minutes later at the First Hawaiian Bank King-Liliha branch on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder and second-degree assault.
