Leggings a good choice for cramped coach seats

Of course, there are people who really should think twice about their attire. Without seeing the two girls who now famously were turned away from a United Airlines flight in Denver, nobody can judge whether their leggings really fell short of a reasonable dress code. But it’s hard to imagine an anti-leggings policy would fly among casually dressed Hawaii travelers. With rising baggage fees, cramped coach seating, high fares and, oh yes, long flight times, the added constraint would be tough to take.

Some advice on dealing with the media

A local public relations firm, The Bennet Group, recently wrapped up a one-year contract with the Honolulu Police Department. It offered advice on dealing with the news media, saying that reporters “want to save the world,” are “interested in conflict” and “look for drama.” That sounds like anyone who goes to the movies. Actually, reporters want to present important facts of interest to the public, clearly, accurately and quickly. Surely that should put HPD and the media on the same page.
