Man charged in Kalihi robbery

Police charged a 38-year-old for robbery after he allegedly used a dangerous instrument to take property from a 26-year-old man in Kalihi.

Terry Ruben was charged Monday with first-degree robbery. He is being held in lieu of $50,000.

Shortly before 9:50 p.m. Sunday, police said Ruben brandished a dangerous instrument and demanded money from the victim.

Police arrested Ruben shortly after the robbery.

He has a criminal record including convictions for harassment and liquor in public places.
