Police nab suspect in Lihue bank robbery
Kauai police arrested a 42-year-old Hanapepe man in connection with a bank robbery in Lihue.
Police located the suspect at a Niumalu residence at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday.
At about 10 a.m. Thursday morning, police said a man entered First Hawaiian Bank at 4423 Rice Street. He passed a note to the teller that stated he had a gun and demanded. Police said he then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
Shortly after the robbery, police issued a bulletin with surveillance photos asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect.
