Emergency Medical Services transported a 57-year-old man to a hospital after he struck a car while riding his bicycle in Kaimuki.

At about 8:24 a.m. Tuesday, the Kaimuki man was pedaling down a hill on 4th Avenue when a car pulled out in front of him. EMS spokeswoman Shayne Enright said he struck the vehicle and fell to the ground.

The 57-year-old man sustained a fracture to his left leg as well as bruises and abrasions to his head and face.

Enright said he wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Paramedics treated the bicyclist for his injuries and transported him to a hospital in serious condition.
