Passenger is subdued aboard Honolulu flight

    Federal agents escorted a man off an American Airlines flight after it landed in Honolulu on Friday. The man had allegedly attempted to gain access to the cockpit.

    Authorities tend to an American Airlines aircraft on the tarmac at Honolulu International Airport on Friday. The flight, which originated from Los Angeles, was escorted by two US Air Force F-22 fighter jets after a disturbance onboard midway through the flight that involved a passenger trying to breach the cockpit.

    Passenger Grant Arakelian spoke to reporters Friday in the baggage area of Honolulu International Airport after his flight was escorted in by two Hawaii Air National Guard fighter jets due to an unruly passenger.

An alert flight attendant aided by quick-acting passengers intercepted a 25-year-old Turkish national who law enforcement officials said was attempting to reach the cockpit of an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu on Friday. Read more
