The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team is holding a series of camps and clinics for kids next month.
There are two Rainbow Warrior basketball camps, June 15-18 and 19-22, on the Manoa lower campus. In addition, there are shooting clinics on June 2 and 23. Boys and girls ages 6-17 are welcome at a cost of $275 for a camp and $75 for a shooting clinic. Players of all skill levels are welcome; the sessions run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
UH also is holding a Rainbow Warrior Elite Camp for boys grades 7-12 on June 10 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at a cost of $60.

4 local gymnasts compete at Challenge
Four gymnasts from Hawaii competed at the Trampoline and Tumbling Elite Challenge, which wrapped up Sunday at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Sydney Senter, a 14-year-old student at Hawaii Baptist, won gold in the junior elite women’s (ages 15-16) double mini-trampoline event (136.4) and silver in individual trampoline (144.625).
Kayttie Nakamura, a 14-year-old student at Kaimuki High, won bronze in the junior elite women’s (ages 15-16) synchronized trampoline event (88.500, with teammate Maia Amano), fourth in double mini-trampoline (125.2) and fifth in individual trampoline (141.415).
Amano, a 13-year-old student at Sacred Hearts, won silver in the youth elite women’s (ages 14-15) individual trampoline event (14.765), bronze in double mini-trampoline (129.4) and bronze in junior elite (ages 15-16) synchronized trampoline (with Nakamura).
Shane Doi, 27, of Kalihi, took 11th in the senior men’s (ages 18-older) individual trampoline event (93.150).
The four gymnasts, who compete for the Hawaii Trampoline and Tumbling Club, qualified for next month’s national championships in Milwaukee.
King will coach Chaminade women’s hoops
Art King has been named Chaminade women’s basketball coach, the school’s director of athletics Bill Villa announced Monday.
King, who is replacing Bobby Keanini, has served as an assistant coach for the Silverswords men’s hoops team the past five seasons. He played under legendary Chaminade coach Merv Lopes in the late 1980s.
King also has served as the head coach at Le Jardin Academy and Christian Academy.
Hawaii Hilo volleyball adds 2 players
The Hawaii Hilo volleyball team has added two players for next season, coach Gene Krieger announced Monday.
Kylie Davis is a 5-foot-11 middle blocker from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College. She played her freshman season at Benedictine University in Mesa, Ariz.
Lucee Fitzgerald is a 5-11 outside hitter out of Irvine Valley College. She previously attended Holy Names University.
BYU-Hawaii golfer Herrera tied for 35th
Brigham Young-Hawaii’s Nicolas Herrera shot a 2-over-par 72 and is tied for 35th after Monday’s first round of the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship at Reunion, Fla.
