A 41-year-old man has been charged in connection with the stabbing death of his 42-year-old wife in Makiki.

Marcelo A. Carcamo-Lopez, also known as Marcelo A. Carcamo, was charged today with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Meriam Carcamo.

His bail has been set at $1 million. Carcamo-Lopez is expected to make his initial court appearance in Honolulu District Court Friday.

The fatal stabbing occurred Tuesday night at the couple’s sixth-floor apartment at Pacificana Apartments on Young Street.

Police arrested Carcamo-Lopez as he was returning to the apartment building at about 11:15 p.m.
