Makiki man charged in stabbing death of wife
A 41-year-old man has been charged in connection with the stabbing death of his 42-year-old wife in Makiki.
Marcelo A. Carcamo-Lopez, also known as Marcelo A. Carcamo, was charged today with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Meriam Carcamo.
His bail has been set at $1 million. Carcamo-Lopez is expected to make his initial court appearance in Honolulu District Court Friday.
The fatal stabbing occurred Tuesday night at the couple’s sixth-floor apartment at Pacificana Apartments on Young Street.
Sometime before 10:50 p.m., police said Carcamo-Lopez got into a domestic dispute with his wife. The argument escalated when he allegedly stabbed her multiple times with a knife and fled.
Emergency Medical Services responded and transported Meriam Carcamo in critical condition to a hospital where she died.

Police arrested Carcamo-Lopez as he was returning to the apartment building at about 11:15 p.m.
