Maui Grown Therapies, one of the state’s medical cannabis dispensaries, said Wednesday it has gotten approval from the state Department of Health to manufacture cannabis products at its production center on Maui.
Maui Grown Therapies said the dispensary will likely be able to serve patients this summer. Earlier this month the company also passed DOH’s pre-retail inspection for its dispensary in the Maui Lani Village Center.
The last regulatory approval required before Maui Grown Therapies can provide medical cannabis to patients is the first DOH certification of a testing laboratory. State law requires a third-party lab to test all cannabis products before they can be sold.
“As soon as the state certifies at least one lab, we will start booking patient appointments for intake and education,” Gregory Park, MGT’s co-founder and chief compliance officer, said in a statement.
