A 27-year-old man drove a vehicle into the ocean late this afternoon in Nanakuli, Emergency Medical Services reported.
The driver and his 29-year-old female occupant were wearing their seat belts at the time, but managed to free themselves, escaped from the vehicle and made the short swim to shore, EMS said.
EMS responded to the incident at 5:11 p.m. at Farrington Highway and Akowai Road.
Paramedics assessed, treated and transported the man and woman by ambulance to a hospital in stable condition.
