All lanes of Kapiolani Boulevard have been re-opened tonight after the Board of Water Supply completed repairs to a broken, 8-inch water main.

The break was reported after midnight and it took all day and much of the night to complete repairs and return traffic to normal.

The Board of Water Supply announced at 7:31 p.m. that Kapiolani Boulevard was re-opened.

All eastbound traffic on Kapiolani Boulevard was detoured onto Keeaumoku Street and westbound traffic was diverted onto Kaheka Street. Mahukona Street also was closed between Kapiolani Boulevard and Kona Street.
