Police arrested a 23-year-old man after he allegedly choked a 9-year-old girl in Kalihi.
At about noon at a Kino Street residence on June 15, police said the suspect described as the boyfriend of the victim’s mother, choked the child twice, causing injury.
The child told her father about the abuse and he reported it to police.
Police arrested the 23-year-old man Wednesday night on suspicion of abuse. Meanwhile, the victim’s father has obtained a temporary restraining order against the suspect.
