The parent of Territorial Savings Bank declared a special 10-cents-a-share dividend on Wednesday that will be payable on July 26 to shareholders of record as of July 12.
“Our strong capital position gives us the opportunity to pay a special midyear cash dividend,” said Allan Kitagawa, chairman and CEO of Territorial Bancorp Inc. “Including this special dividend, we are pleased that we will have paid out 50 cents (a share) in dividends for the first half of 2017.”
The special dividend is in addition to the two quarterly cash dividends of 20 cents a share that Territorial paid in the first two quarters of this year.
Territorial’s stock closed up 89 cents, or 2.9 percent, at $31.60 on Wednesday. The dividend was announced after the stock market closed.
