Woman charged with operating stolen moped

An 18-year-old woman was charged Saturday for operating a stolen moped in the Ala Moana area, police said.

A patrol officer stopped the woman for a traffic violation at about 11:40 p.m. Friday and found that the moped she was riding had been reported stolen, police said.

Police arrested the woman near Piikoi Street and Kapiolani Boulevard. She was charged Saturday with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, and her bail was set at $11,000.
