The Halona Blowhole lookout, parking lot and cove will be closed from 5:30 a.m. today to 8 a.m. Saturday for work on an unspecified upcoming feature film by Universal, according to city officials.
Film crews will need to stage cranes and other heavy equipment, so the area needs to be closed for safety reasons, according to city officials. The film crew also will use parking stalls at the Koko Head Shooting Complex and Sandy Beach Park, although those sites will remain open, city officials said.
Kalanianaole Highway will remain open, although drivers should expect some delays. Police will be on hand to direct traffic.

8-year-old treated for burns on her back caused by firework
Paramedics on Maui treated an 8-year-old girl who suffered fireworks-related burns to her back.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Monday, the girl’s parents brought her to the Makawao fire station after a firework landed in the girl’s hooded shirt. It’s unclear exactly what type of firework landed in the shirt.
Fire Services Chief Edward Taomoto of the Maui Fire Department said the girl sustained second-degree burns to her upper back. Paramedics treated the girl’s injuries.
