Woman spots suspected bag thief in Kapolei

Police arrested three people in connection with a stolen bag in Kapolei.

At about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, police said a 29-year-old woman saw one of the suspects, a 42-year-old man, steal her bag at an undisclosed beach.

The victim spotted the suspect that night at Kapolei Marketplace at 590 Farrington Highway. Police said the woman and her relatives confronted him and discovered two other people — the suspect’s 33-year-old wife and a 26-year-old man — were in possession of her stolen property.

Police were called and the three suspects were arrested at 10 p.m. on suspicion of two counts of second-degree theft and one count of fourth-degree theft.
