Man, 21, charged for choking woman in domestic assault

A 21-year-old man has been charged for allegedly choking a 19-year-old woman in Haleiwa.

Jessten Anduha-Curlee was charged Wednesday with two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of abuse of a family or household member in the presence of a minor who is younger than 14. His bail was set at $40,000.

At about 10 p.m. Sunday, police said a suspect later identified as Anduha-Curlee violated a temporary restraining order and choked the victim. He then assaulted her again in the presence of a minor.

Police located Anduha-Curlee the following night and arrested him on suspicion of abuse.
